Dear Don:
I only have time for a quick reply, as I am under the gun getting ready for the start of courses. I am glad my work was of help to you. Were you aware of my book, to which the article was a kind of prelude? The book was published as THE DEMISE OF THE DEVIL: MAGIC AND THE DEMONIC IN LUKE'S WRITINGS. It was published by Fortress Press in 1989. It was my revised Yale dissertation, and includes a history of research and exegetical treatments of magic-related passages in Luke's Gospel and in Acts. I know there have been several monographs done on similar topics in recent years, but I haven't been able to keep up on all the research in the area. My interests have moved from devils to... angels. I am now trying to finish a book on angels in the biblical world and today, to be published by Doubleday.
I hope to have time to look at your thesis more closely later on. I will read it in the pdf version, which is very convenient, but thanks for offering to send me a copy.
Good luck to you as you begin your doctoral work!
Cordially,
Sue Garrett
